This item has been sold

Large impressive solid oak sideboard with grand bevelled glass mirror. This item has highly carved decoration of a kings head in the centre flanked by two noble men on either side swirls and foliage. The bottom has similar carvings of noble men along with lions heads and exotic bunches of fruits. The top has a finely carved gadrooned edge which is mirrored along the bottom plinth. A superbly made item which is extremely heavy in weight. This piece would have been made in around 1840. The drawers use the lions mouth to slide them open. A very similar one is in Speke Hall Liverpool which has queens heads on.
